IMPACT THEORY WITH TOM BILYEU
One of the most famous podcasts/show is Impact Theory hosted by Tom Bilyeu, every week an episode released wherein Tom dives into the minds of the world’s highest achievers to learn their secrets of success. One Such podcast featured Our own Indian Mystic: Jaggi Vasudev or as the world knows him, Sadguru. It was an eye-opening podcast, to say the least. Sadguru and Tom talked about a lot of topics including How to be a good parent, How having beliefs negatively impact life and much more.
Here Are The Top 4 Lessons To Take Away From This Podcast :
- Human Potential: According to Sadhguru, For all other species on a planet, nature has set two points, within these two points they live their whole life. These are points are The Ceiling and The Floor. But When it comes to humans, Nature hasn’t set any high or low point, it has left it in the hands of humans. If a human focuses his energies in the right place at the right time, he can achieve the impossible. However, Sadguru also tells how humans spend 50% of their life doing things because of compulsions of their body, mind and thoughts. In other words, they have given their mind/emotions more importance than they actually deserve.
2. All Human Experience Comes From Within: Sadhguru reveals that how someone or something makes us feel should always be in our hands, we must not give this power to someone else. He further adds to this by explaining how a human can choose to be blissful even in their darkest times just by realizing that they have full control over their emotions, they just need to exert that control.
3. You don’t raise children, You Cultivate them: When being asked about why he doesn’t put a lot of his teachings onto her daughter, Sadhguru expressed his discomfort with the widely used word, “raised”. He also points out one of the biggest mistake parents make, he said and I quote ” Our children need not look like us, nor not think like us and need not act like us, a child is not a legacy, it is an individual life.”
4. Drawing Conclusions Limits Us: In this segment of the podcast, Sadhguru explains knowledge and wisdom. People have termed knowledge as the information about a certain topic but in reality, it is just conclusions/beliefs that people develop. One of the most famous Greek philosophers, Socrates had a similar thing to say, ” The real wisdom is knowing that you know nothing”. When we form beliefs, we essentially limit ourselves to just a small piece of a puzzle. Moreover, we want to impose these beliefs on others, that’s why believers are in groups and seekers are alone.
These were The 4 beautiful life lessons from this mind-bending podcast. I highly recommend to watch it at least once on youtube.
